Northampton Community College Monroe Campus
Northampton Community College is in the Lehigh Valley and serves more than 35,000 students a year. Pennoni performed planning and design services to build the Monroe County campus in Tannersville, PA.
The campus is comprised of three buildings, totaling 195,000-sf The Pennoni team addressed the functioning of foundational elements below the surface of the campus, as well as building designs. Pennoni performed a geotechnical study, providing the architect with an evaluation of underground systems related to the planning and design of the campus.
Pennoni also collaborated with the architect to locate the braced frames in each building and select areas of each building that worked with the floor plan. In addition to a variety of offices, labs and classrooms, the campus’ three facilities offers students and faculty a variety of accommodations. These services included a fitness center, gymnasium, cafeteria, library, art studio, daycare complex, student gathering areas and tutoring and computer labs.
