Pennoni, a multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm, is pleased to announce the acquisition of Cocciardi and Associates, Inc., of Mechanicsburg and Jessup, PA. The asset-purchase agreement was officially signed on June 21, 2021, and the firm will now do business as Cocciardi, a Division of Pennoni. With the addition of the Cocciardi staff, Pennoni is strengthening its Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) service offerings nationwide.
For 25+ years, Cocciardi has been a leader in the safety, industrial hygiene, environmental & public health and emergency preparedness fields. They offer safety, health consulting and management services, as well as training and education leading to national level certifications in all fields.

Joe Cocciardi, PhD, who founded the firm in 1988, will join Pennoni as Senior Health & Safety Professional. Dr. Cocciardi has spent more than 35 years in the fields of public safety and public, occupational, and environmental health. An emergency responder himself, he formerly developed and managed the Emergency Response Program for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s largest state agency.
