Evolving Capabilities
Ever-expanding with growing businesses
In the heart of the quaint Village of Barnesville, Ohio, Pennoni’s visionary engineers are revitalizing the abandoned B&O railroad, breathing new life into the historic rail corridors. Our transformative project entails constructing a 1.3-mile Shared-Use Path (SUP), tracing the railroad bed’s alignment from Railroad Street to the Bethesda Street Extension within the village confines. To ensure optimal functionality, the railroad bed profile will be adjusted to address drainage concerns. Additionally, our initiative encompasses the creation of an ADA-compliant trailhead parking lot adjacent to the existing Railroad Depot building. Furthermore, our commitment extends to the meticulous rehabilitation, lining, and stabilization of the aging railroad tunnel supporting E. Main Street/Arch Street. Collaborating closely with the design team, PFX Studios has played a pivotal role in crafting 3D visualizations that vividly portray the proposed tunnel lining and slope stabilization. These renderings, integral to our coordination efforts with the historic preservation society, have proven instrumental in securing their enthusiastic approval. This ambitious venture exemplifies the seamless integration of sustainable urban planning, community enhancement, and the preservation of historical legacies.
