The S.R. 0309, Section 19M Center Valley Interchange Project encompasses a 1-mile corridor of S.R. 0309 in Upper Saucon Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania. The project spans from Interstate 78 (I-78) to Huckleberry Drive, focusing primarily on the area 2,900 feet north and 2,200 feet south of the intersection with S.R. 2036 (West Saucon Valley Road) and S.R. 2044 (Center Valley Parkway). The study area extends west along West Saucon Valley Road approximately 1,500 feet to S.R. 2039 (Lanark Road) and east along Center Valley Parkway about 1,200 feet to Corporate Parkway West. The project’s goal is to enhance transportation safety and efficiency by reducing congestion, accommodating planned growth, addressing facility deficiencies, and maintaining regional mobility. Key improvements include grade separation between S.R. 0309 and West Saucon Valley Road/Center Valley Parkway, increasing intersection capacity, and minimizing traffic conflicts due to high volumes. A small folded diamond interchange will be built, along with a new structure to carry S.R. 0309 over West Saucon Valley Road/Center Valley Parkway. The existing S.R. 0309 bridge over Saucon Creek will be raised and extended. Ramps will provide access between S.R. 0309 and West Saucon Valley Road/Center Valley Parkway, which will be widened and include signalized intersections at the ramp connections. Additionally, entrance and exit ramps between eastbound S.R. 0078 and S.R. 0309 will be modified to improve traffic flow between the intersection and interchange. Our PFX Studios developed a complex 3D animation showing existing and proposed conditions, along with simulated traffic conditions.
