Bumble Bee Seafoods is North America’s largest branded shelf-stable seafood company. In Bumble Bee’s Cape May, NJ food plant, petroleum odors and surficial oil stains were observed south of the loading dock and north of the boiler room on site. Pennoni was retained as the Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) of Record to remediate subsurface soils and groundwater. Pennoni designed and implemented a Multi-Phase Extraction (MPX) which remediated the impacted media. The MPX system required two years of operation to sufficiently remediate the impacted media. Post-remediation soil and groundwater sampling activities were conducted in accordance with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Technical Requirements for Site Remediation.
